The Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins face off with one another in a Week 2 matchup between divisional rivals on Sunday.

While the Cowboys started the year 1-0, the Redskins got off on the wrong foot – and are now 0-1. With that in mind, this game has a lot of meaning.

It could start the Cowboys in great position in the NFC East, or already bury the Redskins. Likewise, it could get the Redskins back on track while halting the Cowboys' momentum.

With that in mind, and this being a divisional game, anything can happen when Dallas and Washington meet up. What exactly will happen though?

Here are four bold predictions for the Week 2 matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins.

4. Redskins Defense Gets Back On Track

Landon Collins, Redskins

The Washington Redskins defense looked great in the first half of their Week 1 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. In the second half, things went bad though.

Washington struggled to stop Philadelphia at all and gave up a load of points in the second half (25 to be exact).

This defense is far too talented for that. The defensive line wasn't it's usual dominant self (although a Jonathan Allen injury might have caused that problem) and the usual stars were just not there.

They should be warmed up and highly motivated now. They're going up against another very good offense in the Dallas Cowboys, but they won't look nearly as bad. Expect more pressure on the quarterback and some more big plays by the defense in general.

Side not, Cole Holcomb looked great on Sunday and could continue his growth in Week 2.

3. Cowboys Accelerate Dwayne Haskins Arrival

Case Keenum looked awesome for the most part in Week 1. Yes, he missed that throw to Terry McLaurin – but every QB misses a throw once in a while.

There were a few throws later in the game too that it seemed like he was starting to miss though.

Let's be honest, Keenum isn't going to do what he did in Week 1 every week, and the Cowboys defense is about to jump on that.

The Dallas defense has all types of talent. They're going to do a better job of getting to the quarterback than the Eagles did and they'll force some ugly throws from Keenum.

The Washington QB will struggle mightily and it will start to raise some questions. His performance in Week 1 will be immediately overshadowed by a dominant game from Dallas in Week 2.

People will start to ask for Dwayne Haskins at quarterback even more so than they already have been.

2. Terry McLaurin and Michael Gallup Trade Big Plays

Terry McLaurin

Well, those were two young receivers that didn't disappoint in Week 1.

For the Dallas Cowboys, it was 2018 third round draft pick Michael Gallup. He reeled in seven receptions for 158 yards and looks like a serious threat.

Meanwhile, Terry McLaurin was a third round draft pick for the Washington Redskins in 2019. In his first game, he showed out – reeling in five receptions for 125 yards and one touchdown. Those numbers could've been even higher if Case Keenum hit him on that pass we mentioned earlier.

The two will keep up their momentum in Week 2. Although the talk of the game will likely be the defenses, the offenses will both make a few big plays. At some point in the game, Gallup and McLaurin will exchange blows. One will have a big play, only for the other to follow it up on the next drive with one of their own.

Both are extremely exciting receivers that the teams should be thrilled to have, and they'll continue to make their cases in Week 2.

1. Cowboys Rout The Redskins

Dallas Cowboys, 2019 NFL season

The Washington Redskins looked better than they were expected to in Week 1, at least for a half. However, the Dallas Cowboys looked really good too – and they did it for a full game.

do believe Washington will keep the offense in check for the most part. They'll create a lot of problems for Dat Prescott and could even slow down Ezekiel Elliott.

The offense will keep them on the field though. Washington's offense isn't going to move all that much outside of a few big plays. That will put the defense on the field a lot, and they'll get tired.

Dallas will force a few turnovers from Case Keenum. They'll then take advantage of that and reel off a few long drives.

Washington won't be blown out like the Miami Dolphins were against the Baltimore Ravens. However, this won't be a game that comes down to the wire either. The Cowboys will win by at least two scores, and do so in pretty comfortable fashion. With the Redskins offense never posing a real threat, the Cowboys won't have much to worry about.

Dallas walks out of Week 2 with a 2-0 record, and the Redskins are 0-2 with even more people asking for Dwayne Haskins.
