DeAndre Jordan cleared waivers on Thursday, allowing him to officially sign with LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. The 33-year-old veteran talked to the press after this recent development. One of the hot topics covered was his relationship with former Brooklyn Nets teammates Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

Jordan is good friends with both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, and this was actually one of the main reasons why he decided to join them in Brooklyn two years ago. However, after being traded by the Nets to the Detroit Pistons, Jordan had a bit of a revelation about how things currently stand with KD and Kyrie (h/t Harrison Faigen of Silver Screen & Roll):

“We're definitely not friends anymore,” deadpans Jordan, before clarifying that both Durant and Irving are his “brothers beyond basketball.”

Will DeAndre Jordan find a new BFF now that he's in Hollywood? That's possible. However, it is clear in his statement above that his friendship with Durant and Irving will never be compromised. The fact that Jordan decided to join one of the Nets' biggest threats to the title this coming season won't change that.

Prior to making the big switch, Jordan spent two years with the Nets alongside KD and Kyrie. Last season, the former All-Star averaged 7.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in 21.9 minutes for Brooklyn. Jordan will try to bring the same energy to the Lakers, where he will be battling for minutes with Dwight Howard and Marc Gasol and provide production which will make life easier for LeBron James.
