When the Miami Heat brought Dion Waiters to their fold last summer, many did not see it as a major signing for them. However, the 25-year-old Syracuse product turned out to be a huge boost for the team with his strong play this season.

Waiters cited his improved conditioning as the main reason for his rise in Miami. He recently took to his Twitter account and shared the changes to his body since bringing his talents to South Beach, and credited the Heat's culture for motivating him to work out harder.

After the team's disastrous 11-30 start to the season, Waiters took his game to a higher level and helped them win 30 of their last 41 games. He also produced impressive averages of 15.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists per contest. More importantly for him, he has earned his teammates' trust and emerged as their go-to-guy, especially in late game situations.

Although Waiters missed the Heat's last 13 games, he has silenced his doubters with his stellar play prior to that. He has been vocal that he wants to continue his career with the team, and the Heat have made it known that the feeling is mutual. Should Waiters ultimately re-sign with the them, he will be a key piece in their quest to once again be a perennial playoff contender.
