With the Miami Dolphins being in a rebuilding state, they are willing to listen to offers for some of their cornerstone players—including Minkah Fitzpatrick. According to Adam Schefter, Miami is seeking a first-round pick for their versatile defensive back.

Following the Dolphins' 59-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, there were rumors that multiple players spoke to their agents to get them out of Miami. Amid the rumors, the Dolphins granted Fitzpatrick's agent permission to seek a trade.

Considering that Fitzpatrick is only in his second season, there is expected to be some notable suitors for his services. However, whatever team decides to make a move for him is going to have to surrender a first-round pick (or possibly more) to land him.

So far, there are reportedly five teams who have already expressed interest in the Dolphins defensive back. Some teams are skeptical that Miami will be able to recoup a first-rounder for Fitzpatrick. As a result, those teams are waiting to see if his value decreases before they pick up the phone.

The Dolphins selected Fitzpatrick with the 11th overall pick in last year's draft. The Alabama product became a movable piece in Miami's secondary with him playing safety and slot cornerback.

In his rookie campaign, Fitzpatrick was able to accumulate 80 tackles, nine deflections, two interceptions, and a touchdown. Over the offseason, under new head coach Brian Flores, Fitzpatrick moved back to free safety.

With the NFL trending towards using more three wide-receiver sets, teams are yearning for defensive backs that can play multiple positions. In light of this, Fitzpatrick could be traded after he faces the New England Patriots in Week 2.
