It's not even the midpoint of the NFL season, but the Miami Dolphins are already experiencing a giant meltdown. Their 10-59 defeat to the Baltimore Ravens would be enough to send plenty of Dolphins fans into a state of anger.

With the loss, Miami's not-so-subtle Tank For Tua project is well underway. No one will be surprised some players force their way out of the team. However, there are reports that the franchise will do everything in their power to keep one of them on a Miami jersey.

Barry Jackson confirmed prior news items about Xavien Howard's importance to the front office. Given the good word he put in for the team, there's no reason to believe that the feeling isn't mutual.

Howard was drafted in the second round by the Dolphins and has forced his way into the starting lineup. He has made 127 tackles and one sack in his four years in the NFL. Last season, he proved his worth as a quality corner when he led the league in interceptions (7).

He also expressed his support for the team during the final days of preseason. He told Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post that he is putting his trust in the coaching staff.

“I don’t know the exact plan,” Howard said Monday. “But I’ve got to trust the process of what they’re doing. From Flo to the front office. Just trust the process. That’s it.”

Of course, we don't know if he still feels the same after such a terrible game. We won't be surprised if he also asked for a trade away from the team. However, the Dolphins will ask for a steep price if he does force his way out.
