The Dota 2 community mourned the retirement of Anathan “ana” Pham yesterday. But today, a king returns to the OG Dota 2 roster. The 2015 TI champion, SumaiL, returns to OG after being kicked off the team last year.

However, the prodigy should shake off the ring rust, as he hasn't played a lot of games in the previous season. In 2021, SumaiL only played in the Western European Regional League and the WePlay! Dota 2 AniMajor with Team Liquid. Prior to that, he played some games with his Just Error stack in the EPIC League Season 2 tournament in late 2020.

OG fans have grown to accept SumaiL during his time with the roster in 2020. However, many fans still have loyalty towards ana, and might not expect much from SumaiL, even if SumaiL is a great player. Meanwhile, a lot of fans clamor for the return of Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng and the retired Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka to the OG Dota 2 Roster. Regardless of fans' wishes, OG Dota 2 will play in the Western Europe Regional Qualifiers with the following players:

  1. Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan
  2. Topias Miikka “Topson” Taavitsainen
  3. Sébastien “Ceb” Debs
  4. Martin “Saksa” Sazdov
  5. Johann “N0taiL” Sundstein

Will this team be able to go toe to toe with the best teams in Western Europe? We'll find out as the Regional Qualifiers kick off on July 7-10, 2021. OG definitely has seen worse odds before, having to qualify through the Open Qualifiers when they first won the Aegis in 2018. But the landscape has changed so much today. Will their Cinderalla run also make a comeback this year?
