Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz didn't have a ton to work with last season. Injuries to key playmakers like Nelson Agholor, DeSean Jackson, and Alshon Jeffery, Wentz was forced to work with much less than he is usually accustomed to.

However, since that lack of depth at wide receiver severely hindered Philadelphia late into last season, the team has made it a priority to fix that this offseason. The Eagles traded for former San Fransisco 49ers wideout Marquise Goodwin while also selecting a trio of WRs in the recent NFL Draft.

The star acquisition at the position is TCU Jalen Reagor, whom the team drafted with the 21st overall pick. Philadelphia also drafted Boise State wideout John Hightower in round number five and Southern Miss star Quez Watkins in the sixth.

The additional talent and depth on the roster has Wentz extremely excited about next season and the Eagles potential.

“I’m extremely excited, not just with adding Jalen in the first round — adding his speed — but also going out and getting Marquise,” Wentz said, via NJ.com. “I’ve been watching him on tape for years, through crossover tape in the league, and I’m extremely impressed with who he is as a player, and the speed and dynamic that he brings as well.”

Despite having to rely on tight ends Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert as well as former collegiate quarterback Greg Ward to carry the team's receiving load late in the season, Wentz still churned out a solid 2019 season.

The former No. 2 overall pick completed 63.9 percent of his passes for a career-high 4,039 yards, 27 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. The fifth-year pro also recorded 243 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
