While Alshon Jeffery is activated to the 53-man roster for the Philadelphia Eagles from the PUP list, his name has been floated around as a possible trade candidate. Despite the rumors, GM Howie Roseman made it clear that the Eagles aren't looking to deal Jeffery.

“Alshon has come back with incredible energy,” Roseman said. “He’s in great shape. He’s motivated to win and be part of it. We are not actively shopping him, as reported. But I think for us, you know, let’s get the good player back as soon as possible. I’m not telling you that he’s ready for Week One, but we definitely anticipate him being ready before that PUP period.”

Throughout training camp, Jeffery has been on Philadelphia's PUP list due to a Lisfranc injury he's still recovering from last season. But after making the necessary roster cuts on Saturday, the Eagles activated Jeffery to the roster. However, that doesn't mean he'll be ready to go in Week 1, as Roseman suggested.

Since last season, Jeffery has been linked as a player that could be traded by Philadelphia. With that being said, his injury woes and his current contract make it hard to move the veteran wideout via trade. Jeffery is due to carry a $15.3 million cap hit in 2020 and boasts a base salary of $9.9 million.

Heading into the 2020 season, the Eagles are going to have a receiving corps that features DeSean Jackson, John Hightower, Jalen Reagor, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Greg Ward, and Quez Watkins. Reagor will be sidelined to begin the season due to a torn labrum.

Even though it remains to be seen when he suits up, Philadelphia isn't currently shopping Jeffery. Regardless of when he does return, Roseman believes Jeffery can still be a contributor for the Eagles in 2020.
