The Philadelphia Eagles have a few key players set to enter the free agent market following their first Super Bowl win.

One of which is tight end Trey Burton, who has just completed his one-year, $2.7 million deal and should likely be aiming to cash in on his increased market value. According to Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network, Burton has already drawn plenty of interest across the league ahead of the start of free agency.

The Eagles could quickly fall out of contention to retain Burton's services due to the lack of financial flexibility to offer him a lucrative deal. There is also isn't the appeal of playing time as he would remain the backup to Pro Bowler Zach Ertz even if Brent Celek does decide to retire this offseason.

Burton is coming off a productive year despite being the third-string tight end recording  23 receptions on 30 targets for 248 receiving yards and a career-high five touchdowns. This includes seven contests with multiple catches highlighted by his season-high five catches for 71 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Los Angeles Rams. His biggest contribution of the year occurred in Super Bowl LII against the New England Patriots on the “Philly Special” trick play where he tossed a touchdown pass on 4th and goal to quarterback Nick Foles late in the second quarter.

There could a few intriguing opportunities out there for Burton latch onto a team as possibly a backup or contend for a starting spot for the first time in his career. He has shown that he could be a huge factor in the passing game when given the opportunity in a greater capacity. This could also mean that he could secure a multi-year deal with another team that he may not receive from the Eagles. What these early indications point to is that the 26-year-old being in line to cash with a lucrative contract in free agency.
