Oklahoma City Thunder center Enes Kanter has been making unusual headlines since his arrival in the NBA.

From his fascination with WWE’s The Undertaker and his ongoing ‘bromance’ with Kiwi teammate Steven Adams, to more serious issues such as his complicated relationship with his father; Kanter isn’t afraid to express himself.

The Turkish big man was typically outspoken as he spoke to reporters on Friday, when asked about one of his most famous former teammates, as per Fred Katz.

Whilst Kevin Durant is considered one of the top three players in the league, many would agree with Kanter’s view. Russell Westbrook has always been the more vocal Thunder star and Durant has appeared more comfortable stepping away from the spotlight. In a traditional sense, Westbrook has always led the team.

Durant’s elite scoring ability and tendency to make important shots made him the face of the Thunder franchise, but many viewed his offseason move to the Golden State Warriors as a further example of his lack of an alpha-dog mentality. He did, after all, give himself the questionable nickname of ‘The Servant’.

Kanter will play a key role for a Thunder team that hopes to continue being a force in the Western Conference, despite the loss of the 2014 MVP. Many predict a huge season for Westbrook, who is expected to receive the proverbial keys to the OKC offense.
