Epic Games are going big with their latest game mode, entitled The Spy Within. The newest entry, plays similarly to Among Us as players are grouped in teams of 10. Two members will serve as spies where their primary objective is to sabotage the objectives, while eight will portray the role of agents, where they eliminate the spies.
Unlike Fortnite's traditional Battle Royale, players cannot speak to one another via voice chat. This feature only applies in meetings, where players try their best to oust the spies.
Epic even mentioned the importance of video chat in bringing the best of this game mode where players can have fun by looking at each other's expressions.
The community expressed their displeasure with this game mode, stating that Epic Games have clearly ran out of innovative ideas. Some would point out that Fortnite stole the original formula from PUBG, which is false as H1Z1 was the original trailblazer.

Others would point out that Epic is desperate in keeping their game alive and criticized their decision in acquiring other characters from various universes. During the Game Awards, Epic revealed their collaboration with Halo and The Walking Dead, introducing new skins.

There has been a massive ongoing debate if Fortnite is considered to be a declining game or not. Their decisions to incorporate new game features and acquiring other franchises have received mixed reviews from the community. Some would even go as far as mentioning that the game is desperate to maintain their fanbase. Amid the criticisms, it still remains to be one of the most popular games on Twitch
