CCP Games isn't giving up on high sci-fi-themed shooter games, and now they're working on a tactical shooter set in the Eve Online universe.

CCP Games recently revealed that it's working on a tactical shooter game set in the EVE Universe planet of New Eden. This announcement came during the Eve Online Fanfest held at Reykjavik, Iceland, on May 6-7. CCP, however, did not specify a release window, and only gave sparse details about the game, showing only a single concept art (courtesy of PCGamesN). About this new yet-untitled game, CCP says:

“We recognise that a hard sci-fi FPS game set in the Eve Universe is a very popular concept, and CCP is committed to offering an innovative multiplayer shooter with atmospheric visuals. We want to show you rather than tell you how we have evolved the concept, and we’re looking forward to doing so when the time comes to reveal the game.”

This isn't the first time CCP has worked on a shooter game set in a high sci-fi setting. Their Dust 514 game for the PS3 closed down in 2016, and another title Project Nova never saw the light of day. But CCP Games isn't giving up on their shooter game aspirations, and are instead using the lessons they've learned from years of failures to come up with something that the entire EVE Online community can be proud of and would enjoy playing. With that being said, we're unlikely to see any updates about this game anytime soon.
