F1 championship leader and Red Bull star Max Verstappen sheds some light on what it takes to win the title this season.

This season, Verstappen created a rivalry with Mercedes superstar and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. The pair have battled it out the entire season and have involved themselves in multiple crashes this year.

Verstappen is currently above Hamilton in the standings, as he shares what it takes for him to garner his first title this season.

“I know if my car is fast enough until the end of the season, I will win the championship, but if it's not, then we probably won't win it,”

“You need to have a bit of luck, you need to have the right car, for it to be at the right time of the season or across the whole season – it depends on how close it is with other teams.”

“Of course, it's a dream from when I was a little kid, together with my dad, to get to Formula 1 in the first place and then trying to fight for a title. So, for sure, it would mean a lot if we can win it.”

With just four races to go, Verstappen holds a slim 19-point lead over Lewis Hamilton, with hopes of bagging the F1 crown.
