After a slow start to their season, the Falcons seem to have found new life with some quality wins that have gotten them to 4-4 on the year and within just one game of the New Orleans Saints for second place in the NFC South. If they can keep this up then they just might find themselves in the NFC playoff race and continue to turn a lot of heads with their all-out efforts.

With the continued heroics of Matt Ryan and Cordarrelle Patterson, the Falcons have looked revived and more competitive than during the earlier part of the season. As things heat up in the NFC South, we'll now discuss two key takeaways from the Falcons thrilling Week 9 victory over the Saints.

The Falcons have found new life

With a series of game-winning drives from Ryan and some stellar playmaking from Patterson, Russell Gage, and Kyle Pitts, the Falcons have suddenly emerged as one of the league's most cohesive offensive units. Not to mention three game-winning field goals from the always reliable Younghoe Koo has given the Falcons new life as they've now won three of their last four games and are on par to make a legitimate playoff push this season.

In their continued pursuit of a playoff spot, the Falcons seem to have rediscovered their winning ways and will aim to keep this momentum going as we now approach the home stretch of the NFL season. Now that they've got so much going for them after a quality win against their long-time division rival, look out for the Falcons to climb their way back into the NFC playoff picture.

Atlanta has made things interesting in the NFC South

Heading into the 2021-22 NFL season, it seemed as if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would be the clear cut favorites to win the NFC South title. After the recent emergence of the New Orleans Saints and now the Atlanta Falcons, the race for the NFC South championship looks more open than it previously did. Especially with the Falcons only trailing the Bucs by two games for first place in the division after their close win against the Saints on Sunday.

In what's set to be an exciting race for the NFC South title, the Falcons have now made things extra difficult for the reigning Super Bowl champs and will fight tirelessly to make this division as competitive as humanly possible. If one thing's true in this league, it's that you can never count out the under dog and the Falcons look ready to change the script on their previous status in the league.

Now that they've gotten their act together for the time being and are putting up more of a fight in recent weeks, the Atlanta Falcons have salvaged what once looked like a lost season as they continue their pivot towards a winning record. Next weekend they'll be going up against a deep and talented Cowboys squad that'll be looking to avenge a tough loss from Week 9, but the Falcons have proven to be a perseverant bunch that can overcome the odds during their past few match-ups where they've hailed victorious.
