The Atlanta Falcons held their three-day mandatory minicamp this week, which featured rookie wide receiver Drake London.

The Falcons’ first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft not only earned the green light to take part in on-field football activities, but he also began to build early chemistry with Marcus Mariota. As he noted this week, London has much enjoyed forming a keen bond with the veteran quarterback both on and off the field.

“Marcus Mariota is that QB, and catching balls from him is pretty cool,” London said. “I've been watching him since he was at Oregon.

“It's like a dream come true, playing [EA Sports' NCAA Football] with him and all that.”

London featured at the Falcons’ rookie minicamp with no restrictions, and he once again took part in receiver drills during the team’s mandatory minicamp. This came after a steady injury rehab for the season-ending ankle ailment that he suffered in USC’s home game against Arizona in October.

Overall, the rookie wideout sees that he continues to move in the “right direction” heading into the 2022 campaign.

“Honestly, getting in the feel for playing football again has been great,” London said. “I haven't really played since October. I've had a couple days, a couple weeks to get acclimated and get back. I'm still progressing, obviously. All this is new, but I'm going in the right direction.”

Next up for London and the rest of the Falcons will be the start of training camp, which will come next month.
