In a world seemingly controlled by the internet and social media, everyone ought to be extra careful in what they put out there and post. No one is safe from a generation of screenshots and keyboard warriors, not even newest Los Angeles Laker addition Montrezl Harrell.

Trez is the latest star to be called out on social media after a private conversation between him and a fan went viral on social media on Wednesday. Apparently, a 2018 version of Trez wouldn't have approved his recent move from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Los Angeles Lakers since, per Harrel's own words, that would've been “lame”.

Here's the receipt of the Instagram convo (via fadeawayworld.net):

Given the fact that the Lakers did win their 17th banner in 2020 which eventually paved the way for the reigning Sixth Man of the Year to pull an LA-switch and move to the Purple and Gold's side, this definitely didn't age well.

To be fair, the 26-year old was with the Clippers since 2017 and it would've been hard for Harrell not to respond with such disdain against their city-rivals. Unfortunately for him, it's 2020 and this year couldn't have been any weirder for the North Carolina native as he's set to change sides in Hollywood. This puts him and this conversation in quite an awkward position.

Fans are now going bonkers on Twitter as they call out Harrell's libelous remarks:

It's definitely going to take some time before Laker fans get used to having a guy like Harrell on their side. Snarky comments aside, it's not everyday that you see a star like Harrell move sides in LA.

Hopefully for Lakers fans, everything falls into place on the other side of the fence for Trez and his quest for his first NBA ring.
