The fantasy football season continues to move forward, as we already find ourselves in Week 8 of what has been a thoroughly chaotic season. No other position has been more confusing on a week-to-week basis than the quarterback position, where fantasy owners are routinely struggling to find viable options to fill in at the position for them. So with another week of action quickly approaching, let's take a look at our fantasy football quarterback rankings for Week 8.

Top Quarterbacks Week 8

Mahomes record, Aaron Rodgers, Bears, Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes

The top quarterbacks in the world of fantasy football may be more valuable than ever, and it's the same guys as usual headlining the list this week. Patrick Mahomes is fresh off absolutely torching the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 7 to the tune of 33.86 fantasy points, and he draws another favorable matchup against the Denver Broncos in Week 8, making him the top quarterback for the upcoming week.

Behind Mahomes is Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts. Jackson was just as good as Mahomes in Week 7, scoring 33.88 fantasy points, and he seems extremely comfortable in the Baltimore Ravens offense right now as he heads into a matchup with the Arizona Cardinals. Hurts carried the Philadelphia Eagles past the Miami Dolphins in Week 7 with another strong outing, and while he's dealing with a mysterious knee injury, it doesn't seem like anything that is a major concern.

Rounding out the top five this week is Josh Allen and Justin Herbert. Allen has remained a top fantasy option despite the Buffalo Bills lackluster pair of previous games, but he should be able to have a solid outing against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week. Herbert struggled in a matchup with the Chiefs, but the Chicago Bears are a much more favorable opponent that he should be able to take advantage of in Week 8.

Top Sleeper Quarterbacks Week 8

Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott, Cowboys Week 6, Cowboys Week 6 predictions, Cowboys Chargers, Chargers

Dak Prescott has not been a reliable fantasy football option this season, but against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8, he looks like one of the better quarterbacks you could have in your lineup. While the Cowboys had a bye in Week 7, Prescott had his best outing of the season in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Chargers, and he could keep up the momentum against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8.

Daniel Jones was a sleeper last week, but he ultimately didn't end up playing. He falls in the same category this week, even though the New York Giants have a tough matchup against the New York Jets. Jones has a lot of upside at quarterback, and if he can get back on the field, he's worth considering as your starter, even though there's a bit more risk than usually associated with sleeper quarterbacks.

Finally, the biggest sleeper of them all in Week 8 is Tyson Bagent on the Chicago Bears. Justin Fields almost certainly won't be ready to go for this game, which means Bagent will be under center again. Bagent only had 12.88 fantasy points in Week 7 against the Las Vegas Raiders, but he didn't really have to do anything in a game that the Bears easily ended up winning. That may not be the case again against the Chargers, but their secondary is very suspect, meaning Bagent could be a sneaky good fantasy option this week.

Top Bust Quarterbacks Week 8

49ers, Brock Purdy

Through five weeks, Brock Purdy was one of the safest fantasy options available at quarterback. Yet over his past two games, Purdy has not delivered at all, and that makes him a risky play in Week 8. The Cincinnati Bengals have been pretty good when it comes to defending quarterbacks this season, and with Deebo Samuel already confirmed to be out for this game, Purdy could be in for his third straight dud outing.

On the other side of the ball, Joe Burrow is another option worth avoiding if you can in Week 8. Kirk Cousins just carved up the San Francisco 49ers defense on Monday Night Football, but Burrow has not looked good at all this season, and he could be in for a tough day against the Niners. Even though he's fresh off a bye week, Burrow should stay on the bench for at least one more week if you have other options to play.

Another bust candidate at quarterback is Baker Mayfield, who has been a decent streaming option early on this season given his relatively high floor. Mayfield is dealing with a knee injury he picked up against the Atlanta Falcons, and has a short week to prepare for a Bills team that will be looking to get back in the win column after a crushing upset loss to the New England Patriots. Mayfield may not end up playing, but if he does, he shouldn't come anywhere near your starting lineup.
