The Houston Texans get a tough Week 16 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Texans are coming off of a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars but could be hard-pressed to repeat that effort against the Chargers after the recent update from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on wide receiver Brandin Cooks, which will also bring major implications to the fantasy football playoffs.

That's tough news for not only the Texans but for Brandin Cooks' fantasy football managers as well. Cooks had some serious momentum coming into Week 16, as he had rattled off back-to-back 100-yard efforts. Now, Cooks' status for Sunday comes into question after he was placed on the reserve/COVID list.
Unfortunately, it sounds like both the Texans and fantasy football managers will be without the talented playmaker on their rosters come Sunday, which also happens to be the week of the fantasy championship for many managers.
Cooks has been up-and-down but has been the only reliable fantasy football option on the Texans, as he is fast approaching his second straight 1,000-yard campaign and the fifth of his career.
His big-play ability has likely been a staple of fantasy football lineups this year. Cooks' fantasy managers will hope that the star wideout can somehow make it onto the field Sunday, but they shouldn't expect it. Rookie receiver Nico Collins and veteran Philip Dorsett will likely step up if Cooks misses the game.
Hopefully, these managers have deep benches, because there may not be a comparable option available on the waiver wire- and these Texans backups aren't exactly appealing fantasy options.
It's tough news for the Texans and Brandin Cooks' fantasy managers with a championship on the line.
