Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson was not a happy camper after Team USA's FIBA World Cup loss. On Friday, Team USA was officially eliminated from gold medal contention in the FIBA tournament following a shocking 113-111 loss to Germany, and Johnson took to Twitter to express his dismay at the result.

“Just watched the USA Men’s basketball team play Germany in the FIBA World Cup and I was very disappointed we lost 111-113,” wrote Johnson. “Now instead of playing for Gold we will be playing for Bronze.”
It was the second loss for Team USA in this year's FIBA tournament. They lost to the Lithuanian National Team earlier this week before bouncing back with a resounding win over Italy, setting the stage for the game against Germany.
The German National Team is led by NBA players Dennis Schroder, Franz Wagner, and his brother Mo Wagner. Team USA meanwhile had great contributions throughout the tournament from star shooting guard Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves; however, Edwards' 23 points were not enough to get his team over the hump against Germany.
Magic Johnson for his part knows what it's like to come away with international glory in the sport of basketball. Johnson was a member of the vaunted 1992 “Dream Team,” which featured Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, and several other Hall-of-Famers.
Team USA will now set its sights on the Bronze Medal game, which will take place on Sunday against the Canadian National Team. Hopefully the American squad will bounce back and not disappoint Johnson even further.
