The tension around the United States surrounding gun control has reached another high point in the wake of the devastating shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High Schooll located in Florida where 17 people were killed this past week. It has also heightened the amount of scrutiny involving the issue from all vantage points.

This has now found former NFL lineman Jonathan Martin in the middle of a concerning situation as he made a disturbing post on social media displaying an image of a shotgun and shell cases that caused for his alma mater, Harvard-Westlake High School, in California to be closed for the day. It didn't take long for law enforcement to get involved as Martin has been taken into custody, according to Matt Stone of ABC News.

The social media post in question was a photo of a shotgun laid out on what appears to be a bed with the caption, “When you’re a bully victim & a coward, your options are suicide, or revenge.” It also had the hashtags #MiamiDolphins and #HarvardWestlake along with tagging two of his former Dolphins teammates in Richie Incognito and Mike Pouncey.

This was clearly made in reference to his well-documented bullying situation while with the Dolphins where he was being mentally abused by Incognito and Pouncey on a daily basis. It led to the team having to get involved to sort the matter out internally that also saw the league jump into an investigation. Miami suspended Incognito for misconduct related to the treatment of Martin and did not play the entire 2014 NFL season despite his suspension already being lifted.

That said, this draws some major concern to the mental health of Martin as it has been several years since this entire ordeal was sorted out. His decision to post something like this online demonstrates that it still affects his tremendously. The fact that he has been taken into custody by law enforcement should quiet down any worrying about safety others and Martin for this matter at this point.
