Red Bull team principal Christian Horner reveals that Sergio Perez' rejuvenated form at the Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix can be attributed to a new set-up that has given the Mexican confidence.

As with many of Max Verstappen's former Formula 1 teammates, Sergio Perez began the season struggling to deliver the same results as Verstappen in equal machinery. Perez has only out-qualified Verstappen once this entire season. However, he has regained his form over the last 2 races, garnering back-to-back 3rd place finishes at the Turkish and U.S. Grand Prixs respectively.

Horner believes it's mainly due to a breakthrough in his car's set-up that has allowed Checo to regain his confidence within the cockpit. He has supreme confidence that Perez will be able to deliver massive performances over the last few races of the F1 season.

“I think it's confidence,” said Horner after the COTA event.”I think we're managing to find a set-up that works for him. And managing to optimise the car around his style a little more. There are some important races coming up, so we need doing what he did today.”

Perez is in high spirits after managing a stellar performance in the U.S. GP—overcoming dehydration throughout the race. The Formula 1 star remains optimistic heading into Mexico this weekend where Red Bull typically has an extremely strong advantage—on top of the fact that it's Checo's home race.
