Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 has been a very chaotic season ever since the invaders began to disrupt the island's peace. Not only did they take over the island, but they also brought destruction upon the players. With the latest update, things are about to get more overwhelming.

Abductors send players to the Mothership

If you think that flying saucers were already problematic, a bigger version of the saucer has entered Fortnite called Abductors. They hover around specific areas and sit still for a certain period of time. After a while, the Abductors will send a beam to the ground, capturing those standing beneath it. Once captured, the beam will send you inside the mothership where players have access to a mini-game for a chance to gain powerful loot.

In the Fortnite mini-game, players are tasked to collect golden vault orbs to get loot in the end. If you collect more golden vault orbs, the higher your chances are of acquiring high-tier loot. Of course, it won’t be as easy as it sounds as players have a time limit to collect these orbs. Time orbs are also scattered within the area giving players the ability to extend their time limit. Each time orb will extend the time limit by 3 seconds only, so you better be strategic in collecting both the golden orbs and time orbs. Once the time runs out, players will be sent to a loot room filled with multiple IO Chests. Depending on how many golden orbs a player has collected, the chests will reward you accordingly.

Alien Parasites buffing the Wildlife

Having a pack of wolves roaming the Fortnite island and randomly attacking players is already annoying enough. Now, there are these parasites, the pests attached to their heads making them more hostile than ever. These parasites took over the frightened boars and the harmless chickens which have turned them into threats. If a player takes damage from the infected animals, the parasite’s slime will gradually deplete some of your health, kind of like a poisonous effect.

Now there are two ways of taking out Fortnite‘s enhanced wildlife. If a player manages to land those headshots, the parasites will be eliminated entirely, reverting the animals back to their original state. However, if the player eliminates the wildlife without exterminating the parasite, the deadly pest will detach themselves from the animal and then reattach themselves to the player’s head.

Having a parasite on your head comes with its pros and cons. The parasite will drain a player's health down to 60hp, with the shields unaffected.  Luckily, there’s a nice tradeoff to your health’s depletion. Since parasites are attached to a player’s head, they are now protected from taking any headshot damage. Not only that, but players will also have more mobility, making them run faster and jump higher.

All of the other Fortnite version 17.10 updates

The Imagined Order did its job in order to protect the island. Specifically, they hacked the saucers, reducing the rate of fire of the plasma barrage. Everyone now has a bigger opportunity to take out these flying nuisances from the sky. As expected, the invaders won’t take this abuse without firing back. The aliens have now hacked the Recon Scanner making it recharge slower and reducing the Recon Bolts’ life expectancy.

Silver, Gold, and Prismatic pages have been added to the Bonus Rewards section. Just like every season, players past level 100 still have rewards that can be unlocked to add more style to your favorite battle pass characters.

The Fortnite Invasion Season just got more exciting with the addition of these new updates. It’s now starting to feel like more of a war as the aliens and the islanders have been retaliating to each one. Because of this, the war has without a doubt turned into a hot mess.
