Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) has recently announced the upcoming changes to the game's Tomestones and Scrips, which will go live in 7.0.
FFXIV Tomestone Changes
Let's start off with the Tomestones. As per the announcement, two new Tomestones will be added to FFXIV in 7.0. These two Tomestones will become obtainable once players reach at least Level 100 with at least one class or job.
However, the arrival of these Tomestones does come at a price. That is, the currently available Tomestones will slowly be phased out. Here is what will happen to each of the special Tomestones once 7.0 launches:
Allagan Tomestone of Comedy
Allagan Tomestones of Comedy will no longer be obtainable once Dawntrail arrives. Additionally, players can no longer exchange them for items. However, players will be able to exchange them with Allagan Tomestones of Poetics once 7.0 comes out.
Allagan Tomestone of Causality
Similar to the Tometones of Comedy, the Tomestones of Causality will also no longer be obtainable in Dawntrail, nor will they be exchangeable for items. Also similar to the Tomestones of Comedy, they can be exchanged for Tomestones of Poetics once 7.0 comes out.
Allagan Tomestone of Astronomy
The Allagan Toemstones of Astronomy have been unobtainable and unexchangable for items for quite a while now. Not only that, but it will also be completely removed from the game once 7.0 launches.
However, it is possible that players still have these in their inventory. As such, it is highly advised that players exchange these for Tomestones of Causality before the start of the Patch 7.0 maintenance on June 26, 2024, by speaking with Auriana in Revenant's Toll (X:22.7 Y:6.7).
Allagan Tomestone of Poetics
As per usual, the Allagan Tomestone of Poetics will remain as the all-around Tomestone for all previous content. With the launch of 7.0, the Tomestone of Poetics will become available in duties up to Level 90, as well as from certain duty roulettes.
It is also likely that once 7.0 arrives, all of the end-game equipment of Endwalker (sans those that came from the Pandemonium raids) will become available for trade using the Tomestone of Poetics. Should more information become available, we will be sure to let you know.
FFXIV Scrip Changes
Now let's talk about changes to the game's Scrips. As with the Tomestons, a new type of crafters' and gatherers' Scrip will be added to FFXIV with the launch of 7.0. These Scrips will be obtainable from trading in crafted and gathered collectable items once the player reaches level 100.
This does mean, however, that some of the previous Scrips will be removed from the game.
Yellow Crafters' and Gatherers' Scrips
Yellow Scrips will no longer be obtainable, nor will they be exchangeable for items with the release of 7.0. It will also be completely removed from the game.
As such, it is highly advised that players exchange these Scrips for White Scrips before the start of the Patch 7.0 maintenance on June 26, 2024, by speaking with Auriana in Revenant's Toll (X:22.7 Y:6.7).
White Crafters' and Gatherers' Scrips
As for White Scrips, they will also no longer be obtainable or exchangeable for items after the release of 7.0. If the player still has White Scrips in their inventory when 7.0 launches, they will be able to exchange them for Purple Scrips by speaking with the scrip exchange in Revenant's Toll (X:22.7 Y:6.7) and other locations.
Additionally, items that originally required White Scrips will instead require Purple Scrips, with some exceptions.
Purple Crafters' and Gatherers' Scrips
Players will still be able to obtain Purple Scrips after the release of patch 7.0 in FFXIV. Additionally, White Scrip rewards will be changed to Purple Scrips once the expansion comes out.
That's all the information we have about the Tomestone and Scrip changes arriving in FFXIV with the launch of Dawntrail (Patch 7.0). Dawntrail has a release date of July 2, 2024.
