Fortnite might be getting a Rick and Morty-inspired collaboration event soon. Epic Games teased the upcoming new season, Chapter 2 Season 7, in a tweet they dropped earlier today. The tweet may look harmless at first, but eagle-eyed fans at Fortnite Intel noted that the robot in the middle seemed familiar. Indeed, the middle robot appears to be the Butter Passing Robot. The robot only appeared once throughout the entirety of the series – being told off by Rick that its only purpose is to pass the butter, in which the robot despaired for the banality of his existence.
While this might mean that there will be an upcoming Rick and Morty crossover event on Fortnite, we don't know it for sure yet. We'll have to wait for official confirmation from Epic Games, or at least see through the new story trailer they've prepared for Chapter 2 Season 7. If ever this turns out to be real, it won't be the first time Rick and Morty popped up in video game media. A Rick and Morty-themed cosmetic skin set went online on Rainbow Six Siege months ago, featuring Pickle Rick and the Gromflomite. Will we also see Pickle Rick on Fortnite soon? Hopefully, and we're sure it's gonna rake in the V-Bucks.
Rick and Morty returns on TV and on streanming platforms on June 20, 2021. Meanwhile, Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 goes live on June 9, 2021.
