SANDBOX Gaming is the latest team to make massive roster changes ahead of the 2021 season. Superstar Support player Kang “GorillA” Beom-hyun parts ways with the Korean LOL organization on a mutual decision. GorillA is one of the most consistent players in his role within the region despite the lack of recent success in tournaments.

He not only acted as the Support but facilitated his team's plays as its captain. This will undoubtedly be a blow to the SANDBOX roster although not entirely misguided. The team finished at a dismal 7th place in the 2020 LoL Champions Korea Summer Split. They weren't even in contention for a world championship appearance.

GorillA is most famous for his Worlds grand finals appearance in 2015 with KOO Tigers. He was also part of the mythical ROX Tigers roster that was consistently pitted against the then-reigning SK Telecom T1. It's been years since we last saw GorillA compete on the international stage but his talents have not waned since then.

He spent a brief period of time outside of the Korean region when he competed for Misfits Gaming in the EU. The team experienced mixed success in the local region even with GorillA bolstering the Support spot. His return to his home region was ill-fated as SANDBOX failed to find success in the LCK.

GorillA enters the free agency pool with no team to fight for. One thing remains certain, he will be a valuable addition to any organization that chooses to acquire him. Teams can't go wrong with a player that's been consistent in his role since he debuted in 2013.
