Genshin Impact 2.1 is a very exciting game update for fans. This is mostly due to the Genshin Impact 2.1 new characters we will be getting when the new update releases on September 1, 2021. We're sure that after watching the Genshin Impact 2.1 Special Program and watching the Archon Quest trailer for Omnipresence Over Mortals, you'll want to learn more about these characters.
Aloy arrives in Genshin Impact 2.1 for PlayStation players
First off is the free 5-Star Cryo Bow user character Aloy. Originally from Horizon Zero Dawn, Genshin Impact 2.1 new character Aloy will be free to grab for anyone who plays Genshin Impact on a PlayStation console. After claiming Aloy, players will be able to use her on any platform using the same account.
Aloy, like Yoimiya, has an Elemental Skill that turns her normal attacks into elemental attacks, which eliminates the need to charge attacks just to hit her element. Her Elemental Burst, Prophecies of Dawn, makes her throw a Cryo Power Cell which she detonates with an arrow, dealing AoE Cryo Damage.
The Third Archon – Raiden Shogun, Baal
Perhaps the most awaited Genshin Impact 2.1 new character, the Raiden Shogun, Baal, will finally be part of the Traveler's party in the new patch. She will feature in the first Wish Banner, alongside Kujou Sara, one of her lieutenants. Raiden Shogun will be the third Archon we will encounter in the game, and her story will be the highlight of Omnipresence Over Mortals, the next chapter of the Archon Quests.
Raiden Shogun plays somewhat like Childe, in that she has two forms wielding different weapons. The 5-Star Electro Polearm user can swap to her sword form under her Elemental Burst – Secret Art: Musou Shinsetsu. Under the Musou Isshin state, every attack the Raiden Shogun deals will be considered as Elemental Burst damage, which could lead to some brutal damage dealt by the Electro Archon.
“All of the Raiden Shogun's Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks will be converted to Electro DMG that cannot be overriden by any other elemental infusion. When the Raiden Shogun's attacks hit an opponent, she will recharge Energy for all of her teammates, and she will be immune to the effects of Electro-Charged while also having increased resistance to interruption. The Raiden Shogun's Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG will be considered Elemental Burst DMG.”
Genshin Impact 2.1 New Character: Kujou Sara
Also debuting in the same wish banner as the Raiden Shogun is one of her most trusted generals – Kujou Sara. Sara is part of the Tenryou Commission, which explains her actions in the story so far. The 4-Star Electro Bow user will be a quick favorite for many players in both aesthetic and flair, as her fighting style looks really great so far.
Kujou Sara's Elemental Burst – Subjugation: Koukou Sendou – deals AoE Electro Damage to a target location, which then cluster bombs around it to deal even more – albeit smaller – AoE Electro Damage to enemies.
Sangonomiya Kokomi – Floaty Shrine Maiden
Finally, the fourth character to join the Traveler's Party in Genshin Impact 2.1 is the shrine maiden Sangonomiya Kokomi. Players like the way Kokomi floats in the air as if she's always underwater. Kokomi is a 5-Star Hydro Catalyst user with a lot of healing prowess.
Kokomi's Elemental Burst – Nereid's Ascension – also deals Hydro AoE damage to enemies, while also buffing both her Normal and Charge Attacks. She comes into battle with a Hydro Illusion that manifests as a floating jellyfish, which also attacks with Hydro damage.
Genshin Impact 2.1 Release Date: September 1, 2021
Genshin Impact 2.1 characters (except for Sangonomiya Kokomi) will arrive upon the release of version 2.1 on September 1, 2021. Sangonomiya Kokomi will come later on September 21, 2021 on her own Character Wish Banner.
