A couple of weeks remain before Kamisato Ayato releases, but Genshin Impact players have seemingly already figured out which Artifact Set is best for him.

A video pits one of the new Artifact Sets, Echoes of an Offering, against the currently available Heart of Depth set. If you need a reminder on what each set does, here are its effects.

Echoes of an Offering

2 piece bonus: ATK +18%

4 piece bonus: Normal Attacks have a 36% chance to trigger (once every 0.3 seconds) a buff that boosts Normal Attack DMG by 60% of the characters ATK. The buff expires 0.05 seconds after the next Normal Attack that deals DMG. If a Normal Attack does not trigger the buff, the next Normal Attack will have an additional 20% chance to trigger it.

Heart of Depth

2 piece bonus: Hydro DMG Bonus +15%

4 piece bonus: After using an Elemental Skill, increase Normal Attack and Charged Attack DMG by 30% for 15 seconds.

Kamisato Ayato's Best Artifact Set

So, which one fits Kamisato Ayato the best? The video only tests the artifact set in a vacuum and nothing else. Weapon effects, artifact main stats and substats are all disabled, so we get to see purely the artifact effects only.

With Echoes of an Offering equipped, there is more variation in his damage output. The artifact effect activated 8 times on the first combo, yielding approximately 121,000 damage. On the second try, it only activated 5 times, dealing ~112,000 damage.

The Heart of Depth's 4 piece bonus eliminates the RNG from the effect activation, hence the damage is more constant. In all tries, Kamisato Ayato with Heart of Depth equipped dealt around 120,000 damage every time.

The conclusion? If you already have good Heart of Depth artifacts, there's no reason to bother farming for Echoes of an Offering. It's also a good choice if you're only about to start farming, since you get more than a week of head start. But if you don't mind waiting, Echoes of an Offering isn't a bad choice, especially if you have Xiao. Echoes of an Offering shares the domain with Vermillion Hereafter, the set “made” for Xiao.
