Georgia basketball coach Tom Crean expects big things from 5-star freshman Anthony Edwards in the 2019-20 season.
Edwards was rated as the No. 2 player in the 2019 recruiting class, and it's clear that the Bulldogs will make him the focal point on offense, but he could also play a huge role on defense.
Crean discussed what he's seen from Edwards during the offseason and how he'll fit into the mix this season.

“I think he’s gonna have a huge impact,” Crean said at SEC Media Day on Wednesday. “He's got athletic ability and overall ability that he doesn’t even really have an idea of how fast and good he can be. It’s our job to get that out of him.”
“He can impact his teammates in so many different ways. He can not only be an impact offensive player but he can be an elite defensive player.”
Edwards is projected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, according to NBADraft.net.
Georgia struggled in Crean's first season in Athens, but the addition of Edwards will certainly give the team a chance at an NCAA Tournament bid given his playmaking abilities on both sides of the court.
Crean and company also return several key scorers in Rayshaun Hammonds, Tyree Crump, and Jordan Harris, while also adding a top 10 recruiting class and Northeastern grad transfer Donnell Gresham Jr.
The Bulldogs will tip off the new season on Nov. 5 against Western Carolina.
