Eli Manning is having a field day for the New York Giants in what is presumed to be his farewell tour. He played prime football in his first game back against the Philadelphia Eagles, and Richard Sherman tipped his hat to the younger Manning brother.

As he watched Manning's incredible return unfold, Sherman quickly reached for his phone and tweeted out one of the highest praises the 49ers cornerback has said in recent times.

The Super Bowls Manning won were XLII and XLVI, and both of those instances saw him square up against the New England Patriots.

Moreover, his showcase against the Giants reminded everyone just how good he is. He's yet to throw an interception after three-quarters of play against the Eagles.

However, this will likely be the final stretch of games where Manning will be able to start, at least in New York. The Giants are already moving forward with Daniel Jones, and Manning still has enough left in the tank for him to pursue a starting job somewhere else.

The man himself is not thinking about things too hard, but his teammates are already singing his praises.

“He’s a legend,” running back Saquon Barkley said, per The New York Times' Danielle Allentruck. He added: “The way he operated in practice, the way he operated in the building was the same Eli that we know. Good to see him come out this week and get a chance. It’s going to be awesome for him.”

This is only the third game Manning has played this season after being benched during Week 3.
