The New York Giants will be without one of their top receivers in Sunday's game against the Washington Football Team.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL NetworkGolden Tate did not travel with the team and will miss Sunday's game. The Giants reportedly made the decision due to his overall issues with effort and performance with the team.

During Monday night's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tate was clearly frustrated with the team. He was seen shouting “Throw me the damn ball!” at the Giants’ sideline multiple times during the game. Then after the game, his wife, Elise, called out the coaches for her husband’s reduced role in the last two games. In addition to the coaches, she also ripped quarterback Daniel Jones for not throwing to Tate when he was wide open against the Buccaneers.

According to ESPN, the Giants were open to moving Tate at the trade deadline, however, they were unable to do so considering his age and his salary.

Tate, who's playing his 11th season in the NFL, has not had a good season with the Giants this year. The 32-year-old receiver has recorded only 22 receptions for 226 yards and two touchdowns, which marks one of his worst starts of a season in his career. Furthermore, Tate's role with the Giants has gone significantly down this season, as he hasn’t had more than seven targets in a game this season.

Nevertheless, it'll be interesting to see if Tate will play again for the rest of the season, considering what has happened this past week.
