The New York Giants have some new faces on the team as they look to bounce back after a disappointing 2020 season. But one player who is set to make a huge return is running back Saquon Barkley, who played in just two games last season.

Well, there could be some good news on the return of their star running back, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network:

That definitely bodes well for the chances of Saquon Barkley suiting up for the regular-season opener against the Denver Broncos on September 12. After all, they definitely need him since their running game–and offense as a whole–took a massive hit after he went down.

Quarterback Daniel Jones had an up-and-down season and is expected to bounce back in a big way, especially with the addition of Kenny Golladay who signed in free agency after spending the first part of his career with the Detroit Lions.

If the Giants want any realistic shot to compete in the NFC East, they will need a huge season from Barkley. For comparison, he had 2300 yards on the ground and 17 touchdowns across his first two campaigns in the league, and when healthy, he is one of the best backs in the entire NFL.

Let's hope he can make his return soon.
