Prior to the Giants handing Odell Beckham Jr. his lucrative long-term extension, the team was reportedly thinking about trading the superstar wideout. The Los Angeles Rams were apparently one of Beckham’s potential landing spots had they decided to pull the trigger on a deal.

While Beckham and the Giants are struggling at 1-6 this season, the Rams are flying high with a perfect 7-0 record. With all of the Rams’ success, it’s fair to wonder whether Beckham has any regrets about committing himself to the Giants long-term. When asked if he has had second thoughts, Beckham did his best to sidestep the question.

“It’s hard to think about that now and it’s really irrelevant to think about now because I’m here and I will be here,’’ Beckham said per Wallace Matthews of the New York Daily News.

Asked a second time whether he had any regrets about signing his deal, Beckham said, “No. I just wish we had a better record than we have.’’

Beckham adds that despite the Giants’ struggles, he’s not going to quit or stop caring and is still committed to turning things around.

Beckham may very well have some regrets about signing his long-term deal this offseason, but it won’t do him any good to come out and say it. After getting roundly criticized for his recent public comments, he likely would’ve gotten similarly panned had he admitted he regretted staying.

It does nobody any good to dwell on the past. The best thing Beckham and the Giants can do now is to look forward to the future, which is hopefully much brighter than the present.
