The New York Giants are now 1-5 and the locker room is a mess. After some comments made by star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. before their Week 5 loss against the Carolina Panthers, Giants owner John Mara said that Beckham should do “less talking and more playing.”

On Friday, Beckham said that he respects Mara's opinion and added that they haven't talked about the comments that were made.

“I respect and value his opinion,” Beckham said Friday per Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com. “That’s what we’re gonna do: focus on Atlanta right now. That’s really it. I’m ready to talk about the Atlanta Falcons and that’s really it. That’s the focus right now. We need to start winning games. I feel that. I want to win, too, just as bad as anybody else. That’s really it, I just wanna win.”

He also added that he realizes he needs to do more to help the team win following their rough start to the season.

“My focus is on football,” Beckham said. “I need to do more. I need to do better. Period.”

Unsurprisingly, Beckham is the team's leading receiver with 45 catches for 506 yards. However, he has made it into the end zone just once thus far so there's clearly room for more improvement for him.

Of course, Beckham can't do it alone. He'll also need Eli Manning to step up and get him the ball at a more consistent basis, preferably deeper downfield.

Beckham and the Giants offense will have a great opportunity to put up some big numbers this week when they face the Atlanta Falcons at home. The Falcons have also had their struggles this season, particularly on defense, and currently have a 2-4 record. After that, they will play a big divisional game against the Washington Redskins.
