New York Giants coach Pat Shurmur raised a lot of eyebrows when he punted down 14 in the 4th quarter instead of going for it, and after the game, he defended his decision.

“I felt like it was the right thing to do,” Shurmur bluntly said via Ralph Vacchino of SNY.

Golden Tate caught a pass from Daniel Jones on the Giants 33 yard line but ended up two yards short of the first down. With less than eight minutes left, many believed the Giants would go for it since there really wasn't anything to lose, but Shurmur instead decided to punt it away.

After the punt, the New England Patriots drove down the field and got into the end zone with 3:49 left in the game. The Giants were down three scores and there was no chance for a comeback.

Shurmur wasn't the only person who was asked tough questions after the game. Rookie quarterback Daniel Jones has struggled the last couple of games and now there are questions about where he goes from here.

After the game, Jones was asked if he was overwhelmed, which he denied rather saying he just made some poor decisions.

“I mean, I think I didn’t play well by any means,” Jones said via Boston.com. “I don’t think it was overwhelming, I think it was just bad plays [and] bad decisions.”

Shurmur and Jones are two of the most important part of the Giants having success, and the hope is going forward they won't be having to answer the tough questions because of questionable decisions.
