The rematch that every college basketball fan didn't live up to the hype. You can blame Drew Timme, Chet Holmgren, and the rest of the Gonzaga Bulldogs for that, as they absolutely walloped the UCLA Bruins from the get-go to the end of Tuesday night's 83-63 win against the UCLA Bruins. That was the first time these two teams met since Gonzaga defeated the Bruins in the Final Four round of the 2021 March Madness.

All eyes on the Bulldogs were on Timme and Holmgren in that game, but it was guard Andrew Nembhard, who led the way for the team with 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field. Nembhard is relishing his expanded role with Jalen Suggs now in the NBA, but in the UCLA game, three other starters scored in double figures, including Timme (18 points) and Holmgren (15 points).

Timme commented about Gonzaga's win against the No. 2 squad in the nation and credited the victory to the entire team.

Via Myron Medcalf of ESPN:

“It was just a great team win,” Timme said. “That's the beauty of our system: Anybody can step up on any given night. And this team is so unselfish.”

Gonzaga, which is now 6-0 overall, will next face another tough test in the form of the No. 5 Duke Blue Devils on Friday.
