The shortcomings of the New England Patriots' offense has been well-documented for the majority of the season. While the offense has fallen short, many have begun to question the play of Tom Brady under center.

Most recently, Brady completed only 24 of his 47 attempts for 326 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception against the Houston Texans. For most of that game, Brady and the Patriots' offense was incapable of moving the ball effectively.

As a matter of fact, New England didn't score their first touchdown of the game until the third quarter. In addition, Brady threw 23 incomplete passes—the most he's thrown in a game in 2019.

The performance from Brady in Week 13 was one of the few that the veteran quarterback has had trouble in this year. With that being said, what letter grade does Brady deserve for the first 13 weeks of the season?

Brady's Grade for the first 13 weeks: B

In Brady's first 13 starts of the season, he has thrown for 3,268 yards, 18 touchdowns, and six interceptions. Above all, the 42-year-old quarterback has completed only 61.1 percent of his passing attempts.

The 61.1 completion percentage is the lowest for Brady since the 2013 season. Amid these struggles for New England's offense, some have started the annual conversation on ‘whether or not Brady is declining'.

While everyone in the NFL has awaited for the rapture to happen, it is unfair to believe that is what is occurring. Yes, Brady hasn't been nearly efficient as he typically has been. Additionally, he's missing a few throws that he has made over his illustrious career.

But at the same time, there have been plenty of injuries along the offensive line and the offense lacks weapons around him. Besides Julian Edelman, New England is relying on rookies N'Keal Harry and Jakobi Meyers to produce at wide receiver.

Even among the moments of despair, there are still plays that Brady creates that make you realize how great he still is. For instance, against the Dallas Cowboys in the pouring rain, the ageless signal-caller had to convert a third-down and 20.

While standing strong in the pocket, Brady delivered a 21-yard strike to Edelman for the first down. Not many quarterbacks, let alone one who is 42-years-old could have made that throw.

Considering all of that, the 20-year veteran deserves a slight part of the blame for why this offense is sputtering thus far. However, the arsenal of skill players and the injuries on the offensive line have been the center of their problems.

For the people that believe this is the end of Brady's career, prepare yourself for another deep playoff run for the future Hall-of-Famer.
