Memphis Grizzlies budding star Ja Morant owns some of the best handles in the game today. However, the 2020 NBA Rookie of the Year made sure to honor the great ankle breakers before him, especially Jamal Crawford who turned 41 on Saturday.

Apart from greeting the three-time Sixth Man of the Year Winner, Morant tried to pull off the best and most fitting birthday gift to the crossover master. Against the Golden State Warriors at FedEx Forum, the 21-year-old Grizzlies guard tried to pull off Crawford's signature behind the back crossover, which fooled a ton of defenders over the years.

While Morant failed to finish the exhilarating move as he was hacked by Kent Bazemore, Crawford appreciated the gesture and praised the Grizzlies young gun for attempting the flashy play during a fastbreak.

Warriors superstar Stephen Curry, who is quite the ball-handler in his own right, also paid tribute to J-Crossover.

Even at 41 years old there's no doubt that Jamal Crawford could probably still pull off that killer crossover and drop buckets in the league right now. However, it's baffling why the 30 teams are not giving him a chance, especially with the current challenges that COVID-19 has brought upon team rosters.

It remains unclear if we'll see Crawford back in the NBA any time soon. Good thing there are guys like Ja Morant who continues to move the needle when it comes to breaking ankles.
