Memphis Grizzlies forward Anthony Tolliver went back to his high school to reach out and reconnect with his local community. Instead of getting a warm welcome, the 35-year-old got roasted by a group of students.
The said kids pulled out a laptop to show one of the rather embarrassing plays the Grizzlies veteran was caught in.
It was a play when Tolliver was matched up against Lance Stephenson and the latter put him on skates with a nasty crossover. Stephenson made the bucket and eventually brought out his patented shoulder shake.
Tolliver tried to defend himself as he was swarmed by adolescent laughs. Unfortunately, just like against Stephenson, the NBA veteran seemingly failed again.
“I didn't fall. I didn't fall.” the Grizzlies forward told the kids, per SportsCenter.
Earlier this year, Anthony Tolliver was signed by the Grizzlies on a 10-day contract — his 10th NBA team since 2008. It was later announced that Memphis was bringing him back as they tried to compete for a playoff spot in Orlando.
Things didn't go as planned for the Grizzlies and Tolliver, as they were eliminated in the play-in tournament against the Portland Trail Blazers. Good thing though, Tolliver has used his free time to reach out and connect by visiting his high school.
It has been awesome how Tolliver has used his platform to reach out to different communities and spread some positivity. We could all use some inspirational words right about now. Hopefully, these memes and savagery doesn't discourage Tolliver to continuously reach out.
