Grand Theft Auto 5 will be extending its already long shelf life. The popular Rockstar game will continue being a mainstay for console gamers as Rockstar confirms GTA 5 next-gen console release dates.

GTA 5 PS5, Xbox Series X/S Release Date: November 11, 2021

Grand Theft Auto 5 will arrive on PS5, Xbox Series X/S on November 11, 2021, Rockstar announced Tuesday. The “expanded and enhanced” versions of GTA 5 will be coming out along with GTA Online on the same day. Rockstar says that the stronger hardware of the next-gen consoles will allow them to add more features to the game.

We've known that GTA 5 will be coming to next-gen consoles for about a year now. Last year, Rockstar announced the move, saying that they have plans to make enhanced versions of the game on the new consoles. “The new generation versions of GTAV will feature a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades, and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the latest hardware, says Rockstar, “making the game more beautiful and more responsive than ever.”

GTA Online will also be free for PS5 users for the first three months of the service. Rockstar has been pampering PlayStation users indeed, with PS4 players receiving $1,000,000 in-game for every month until the release of the PS5 version.

There will also be more fun updates for GTA Online between now and the release of the next-gen console. Some of the fun events include a special celebration when the 20-year anniversary of GTA III comes around.

Meanwhile, it just makes sense for Rockstar to continue focusing its resources on GTA Online and GTA 5. To date, the game has sold over 140 million units since its PS3/Xbox One debut almost a decade ago. With the amount of money people spend on GTA Online monthly, it's hard for Rockstar not to maintain this cash cow.
