Former second overall pick Jabari Parker signed a two-year, $13 million deal with the Atlanta Hawks this week. The five-year veteran is apparently ready to contribute in whatever way the Hawks ask him, even if it means coming off the bench:

It's a good sign for the Hawks that Parker is ready to sacrifice some minutes in order for the younger players to develop. While with the Chicago Bulls, Parker was hesitant to come off the bench, because he signed with his hometown team with the expectations of being the starting small forward. When he was relegated to the bench in Chicago, Parker was upset with the move and wound up getting traded to the Washington Wizards in the middle of the season.

It seems as if Parker has matured since his disastrous stint in Chicago. Now, he realizes that he has to build his name back up. If Parker ever wants to reach the level he was originally expected to when he was the No. 2 pick in 2014, he will have to start from the bottom.

Perhaps the Hawks can help Jabari Parker reach new heights while they continue to develop their budding stars in Trae Young and John Collins, as well as first-round picks De'Andre Hunter and Cam Reddish.
