On Thursday it was announced that the Atlanta Hawks had agreed to a deal to acquire veteran point guard Jeff Teague from the Minnesota Timberwolves along with Treveon Graham in exchange for Allen Crabbe.

It was a welcome homecoming for Teague, who played the first seven years of his career with Atlanta. As a matter of fact, the 31-year-old himself admitted that he had been looking forward to this move for some time now.

Teague now reunites with the team that drafted him 19th overall back in 2009. It was a productive seven seasons for him in Atlanta, with the 6-foot-3 point guard even getting himself an All-Star nod back in the 2014-15 season. Following the end of the 2015-16 campaign, however, the Hawks would move Teague to the Indiana Pacers as part of a three-team trade.

Teague would then part ways with the Pacers after just one season, opting to sign with the Timberwolves as a free agent in the summer of 2017. It has now come full circle for the veteran, as he has now returned to the team that he obviously holds dear to his heart.

On Saturday, Teague made his second debut for the Hawks, and did not disappoint. He played 25 minutes off the bench, accounting for 15 points (on 6-of-9 shooting), one 3-pointer, three rebounds, seven assists, a steal, and a block. Moving forward, Teague is going to serve as Trae Young's backup. A nice move, though the impact might be minimal this season.

While this may be a sentimental reunion for both parties, this does not really move the needle too much for the Hawks in terms of their season outlook. They are still expected to struggle the rest of the way, and Saturday's 136-103 pummeling courtesy of the Detroit Pistons was a prime example of things to come.
