Update: The original reporting was incorrect as Miles Plumlee was only charged and not arrested.

New Atlanta Hawks center Miles Plumlee was charged for possession of marijuana late in August, according to longtime journalist Peter Vecsey. The 6-foot-11 big man was charged with possession of the drug and consequently released on $100 bail.

Plumlee was part of the trade that brought Dwight Howard to the New Orleans Hornets earlier this offseason. The Duke standout is the second of two marijuana-related arrests after new Sacramento Kings power forward Zach Randolph was arrested in Los Angeles and later released, now facing two misdemeanors following his arrest.

He could face potential discipline from the Hawks organization and/or the league, depending on the results of his case.

The 29-year-old is still owed $37.5 million over the next three years, while his younger brother Mason is bound to make $4.6 million from the Denver Nuggets this upcoming season before becoming a restricted free agent this next offseason.

The youngest of the Plumlees; Marshall, is coming off a victorious international run as the starting center for Team USA, who became champions of the FIBA AmeriCup on Sunday, after coming back from a 20-point deficit against Argentina.
