Former Miami Heat stars Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are helping remind people to check in with their loved ones during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wade and Bosh, along with Wade's wife Gabrielle Union, WNBA legend Candace Parker and DJ D-Nice, starred in a new version of the classic Budweiser “Whassup” commercial:

Wade, the best player in Heat franchise history, retired from the NBA after the conclusion of last season.

The Heat legend spoke to People Magazine about starring in the commercial:

“My wife and I wanted to partner with Budweiser because we believe the message is crucial,” added Wade. “We both remembered the original ‘whassup’ ads and love the idea of bringing them back as a genuine PSA to connect with each other. We encourage everyone to take a moment out from their day to check-in, and I look forward to connecting with people across the country while having a Bud and re-watching a game soon.”

Wade and Bosh won two titles together with the Heat in 2012 and 2013. Behind LeBron James, the Heat defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs.

Wade finished his illustrious NBA career with averages of 22.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.4 assists. He was a 13-time All-Star with the Heat.

Bosh, meanwhile, had to end his NBA career early because of blood clots. In 893 games with the Toronto Raptors and Heat, Bosh averaged 19.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and a block while shooting 49.4 percent from the field, 33.5 percent from beyond the arc and 79.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Bosh was a walking double-double in his days with the Raptors. The lefty had to sacrifice his game with the Heat because of LeBron and Wade, but he was still an elite performer in South Beach.
