Miami Heat legendary shooting guard Dwyane Wade confesses his fear of losing money in his post-playing career.

Professional athletes normally have a limited shelf life to earn an income before their bodies cannot compete the same way as in their youth. This has afflicted many people from different walks of life and various sports, with former NBA players going from top of the world to financially destitute.

Sure enough, Wade is no different, as he also worries about his financial status following his retirement.

Wade retired at the conclusion of the 2018-19 NBA season and is now wandering in his post-playing professional career, which includes broadcasting as an analyst on TNT's NBA pre-show. Wade told Yahoo Finance he has to be cautious about spending money nowadays considering he doesn't have a stable check coming through from the Heat or another franchise.

“It takes moments sometimes when I'm like, huh, that's what I got in the bank, OK. But I still live with that mentality [of not having money] like literally, I have one car. And I have an Audi Q8,” Wade said ahead of the release of his new ESPN documentary “Life Unexpected.”

“I'm always about I don't want to not be comfortable from the standpoint of what's in my bank account. So let me not buy this.”
