Miami Heat big man Bam Adebayo brought people out of their seats after dunking on San Antonio Spurs center Jakob Poeltl. Adebayo skyrocketed up after a beautiful pass from Heat guard Goron Dragic. This is one of the multiple highlight plays Adebayo has had this season.

Adebayo, who signed a max contract with the Heat last offseason, is averaging 19.1 points, 9.1 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game this season. He’s been carrying the Heat in their past couple of games especially with a handful of role players like Tyler Herro, Kendrick Nunn and Duncan Robinson in and out of the lineup. However, the Heat have been inconsistent this season to say the least.

The Heat have fallen to the seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings, just in position to compete in the play-in tournament. There’s still a chance that they avoid the play-in but that would mean hoping the Boston Celtics and Charlotte Hornets (two teams with similar records as them) continue to lose. On the bright side, the Heat won Wednesday’s game versus the Spurs while the Hornets lost to the Celtics.

The Heat’s schedule in the next coming days is pretty crucial given the stakes on the line. Adebayo will have to come up big versus the Cleveland Cavaliers, Hornets, Dallas Mavericks, Minnesota Timberwolves and the Celtics (who they face twice) to keep themselves afloat in the standings.

The defending Eastern Conference champions have the ability to make a strong playoff run—they just need to get healthy. One player they need right now is Victor Oladipo, who has been out of the lineup due to injury.
