Miami Heat superstar Jimmy Butler could not put any weight on his injured foot as he was helped off the court late in the third quarter of Monday's bout against the Golden State Warriors.

There is no official confirmation yet with regard to the severity of the injury, but the fact that the Heat star had to be assisted on his way back to the locker room does not bode well for the 32-year-old veteran (h/t SB Nation on Twitter):

The Heat later revealed that Butler had suffered an injury on his right ankle and that he would be unable to return to the game:

Butler just recently returned from a previous injury that cost him several games on the sidelines. It is worth noting that it was also an injury on this same right ankle that kept Butler out for eight games. It remains to be seen if this is a new injury or if the five-time All-Star re-aggravated the previous injury.

Butler has missed 15 out of the Heat's 38 games this season and he is now in danger of missing more time because of this ankle problem. We will be sure to pass along any new information as they come.
