Jimmy Butler put on a show on Tuesday night as he led the Miami Heat to a 118-107 victory over the Boston Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. It was a performance for the ages from the 32-year-old veteran, who set a new franchise record for the Heat — one that not even LeBron James or Dwyane Wade could achieve.

Butler finished Tuesday's win with 41 points, nine rebounds, five assists, four steals, and three blocks. He is now the first player in Heat franchise history to eclipse the 40-point, five-rebound, five-assist mark on three separate occasions in the playoffs. Both LeBron and Wade only did this twice (h/t StatMuse on Twitter):

Talk about a statement performance from the Heat talisman. The Celtics had momentum on their side after taking down Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks, and Butler knew that this was the case. Butler stepped it up for his team yet again and ensured that there wasn't going to be an upset in Miami in the opening game of this series.

Jimmy Butler has been one of the very best players in the NBA throughout the playoffs. If he continues playing like this, it wouldn't be hard to envision the Heat as the 2021-22 NBA champs.
