Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade is entering the twilight of his playing career, with his remaining games mark dwindling as the 2018-19 season winds down. After he's gone from the roster following the year, many of his current teammates will still be in Miami, including fourth-year swingman Justise Winslow, who has essentially been taken under the wing of the former Hall of Famer.

Before Wednesday's crucial outing against the Detroit Pistons, Winslow discussed with Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel his relationship with Wade:

“It's been great for both of us. And I think for him, just to have someone that he sees with the same kind of passion and heart and intensity that I play with, that he played with at a young age, as well. I think he sees a little bit of that in myself.”

Winslow has come into his own during the 2018-19 season, averaging what would be a new career-best 12.5 points and 4.3 assists per game, adding a 3-point shot to his arsenal to the tune of 1.4 makes per outing at a 37.7 percent clip. Winslow, who has already played in 223 contests during his career, is the same age now as Wade was when he entered the league back in 2003-04.

The Wade-Winslow pairing has helped salvage the current season by stepping up in a pinch and helping facilitate the ball as point guards, despite playing out of position due to injury. The dynamic features one player on his way out of the league alongside one who is just beginning to make his mark.
