Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo has been sidelined for the last six weeks with a right thumb injury. Adebayo, who had surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb, received a promising update on Friday that should excite Heat fans, via ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Per Wojnarowski, Heat center Bam Adebayo is looking to return to action against the Toronto Raptors. Adebayo is reportedly working up to a return, as he has recently joined the Heat on their seven-game road trip.

Now, the Heat got the best possible Adebayo update, as the star center could be back to help fortify their frontcourt by next week. Miami has gotten excellent contributions from backup big man Omer Yurtseven, who has flirted with triple-doubles in each of his last few games played.

Still, the Heat lineup will instantly welcome the addition of Adebayo, who has risen up the center ranks since becoming a full-time starter in 2019. The Miami star has become known for rim-rattling dunks, superb playmaking skills and his versatile defensive ability, all skills that have made him nearly irreplaceable in the rotation.

With star forward Jimmy Butler dealing with an ankle injury, the Heat need Bam Adebayo now more than ever. After the latest update, it sounds like Miami won't have to wait long.
