Despite being one of the biggest surprises of the 2019 NBA season, the Miami Heat have lost two of their last three games and could really use the help of their point guard, Goran Dragic.

Dragic has missed the last nine games for the Heat due to a lingering groin injury. However, the team hopes that the 33-year-old guard can return on Friday for the team's matchup against the New York Knicks.

Playing off the bench this season, Dragic is averaging 15.9 points and 5.0 assists in 28.7 minutes per game. Injuries have been a big problem for the former All-Star throughout his career. Last year, Dragic played in only 36 games for Miami after requiring surgery for a knee injury.

So far, the Heat are in the thick of the playoff race in the Eastern Conference. At 19-8, Miami is just half a game behind the Philadelphia 76ers for the second seed in the conference.

In Dragic's place, Miami has enlisted the help of undrafted rookie Kendrick Nunn. Nunn has broken out on the scene this year and is putting up 16.1 points and 3.6 assists.

Offseason addition Jimmy Butler has also taken the responsibility as primary ball handler and playmaker this 2019-20 campaign. The four-time All-Star is averaging a career-high 6.8 assists to go along with 21.2 points and 6.4 rebounds.

Dragic is a big piece to the Heat's success and the team has gone 13-5 this season when the point guard plays.
